MAT 2019 Counselling, Selection Procedure and Seat Allotment

MAT Selection Process: The counselling for September 2019 will begin in the first week of October 2019 (expected). AIMA does not hold any centralised counselling for candidates who qualify MAT. MAT 2019 for September session will be scheduled on September 1, 2019for PBT and September 14, 2019 for CBT mode.

The results will be released on or after September 28. There are nearly 600 B-Schools in India that accept MAT score. Each of the institutes will release their own MAT Cut off

The selection process varies with college accepting MAT score. Some colleges directly admit candidates on the basis of their result; others hold pre-admission rounds- (Group Discussion (GD), Personal Interview (PI) and Written Ability Test (WAT)) to shortlist candidates. Check MAT Participating Colleges

Important Points about MAT Counselling

  • AIMA will release MAT counselling notification on its official website i.e. aima.in.
  • Candidates have to register for every college they wish to apply for separately on the college’s website.
  • Seats will be allotted on the basis of scores obtained in MAT as well as other selection rounds combined.

Note: In majority of the management institutions these days, Written Ability Test (WAT) is given more weightage, than the group discussions. It is because the admission committee believes it is more convenient to judge a person’s viewpoints based on the Written Ability Test than in a Group Discussion.
